Job summary

Day & Zimmermann seeks a Director of Business Development for Defense Munitions (DZMG) to drive revenue growth across munitions lines, including warheads and payloads. The role focuses on developing strategic relationships with U.S. defense orgs, OEMs, and industry partners, guiding capture activities, and transitioning awards to execution teams.

Qualifications

• Understanding of defense munition markets, funding drivers, and customer organizations.
• Ability to lead cross-functional pursuit teams and manage BD personnel.
• Experience with white papers, RFIs, sources sought responses, and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop market and customer relationships across DZMG lines of effort.
• Source, shape, and qualify new business and opportunities early.
• Lead capture, proposal, pricing, and award activities.
• Transition awarded work to program/execution teams and communicate risks and expectations.
• Assess strategic fit, customer need, and competitive positioning for pursuits.
