Job summary

American Ordnance, a Day & Zimmermann Company, seeks a Program Director to lead warhead development and manufacturing programs under DoD contracts. You’ll manage cross‑functional teams, oversee risk, modernization, and revenue growth, and serve as the primary liaison to government stakeholders.

With full P&L responsibility, you’ll direct engineering, production, and business development while ensuring readiness and compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years US Government contracting experience required.
• Knowledge of military explosives and ammunition/warhead systems required.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/tech data required.
• Must be able to obtain secret clearance and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversees engineering, operations, quality and supply chain to meet cost, schedule and technical objectives.
• Primary customer liaison to communicate status and address contractual issues.
• Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and managing budgets and profits.
• Coordinate with Proposals Group on responses to RFPs and future opportunities.
• Lead production cores and cross‑functional resources for continuous improvement.
• Drive innovations, test prototypes, and enhance readiness with cross‑functional partners.
