Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director - Data Platforms & Architecture to lead a top Energy & Utilities data program. This role will define the enterprise data platform vision and drive architecture decisions for modernization, security, and measurable business value.

You will mentor senior architects and engineers, partner with multiple teams to set shared standards, and guide cloud and data initiatives at scale.

Remote US-based; visa sponsorship not available. Compensation: $162,800–$244,200 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 12+ years delivering enterprise-scale solutions in application development, cloud engineering, DevOps, or data analytics.
• 7+ years leading solution architecture and multi-team development.
• 10+ years in data platforms, data engineering, or consulting with a focus on Databricks.
• Deep architectural expertise with Databricks, including Spark optimization and Delta Lake.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple teams to align with service line priorities.
• Define cloud architecture frameworks to connect business goals with modernization roadmaps.
• Oversee architectural decisions ensuring solutions meet metrics for value, security, and scalability.
• Guide architecture efforts across programs, promoting shared standards and resolving trade-offs.
• Mentor senior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.
