Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the United States is seeking a Digital Manufacturing Engineer to design and develop modern industrial web applications on the Ignition platform, bridging OT data with web/mobile interfaces.

You will work with live plant-floor data, integrate with OPC/Kepware, and collaborate with operators, engineers, and IT to deliver scalable solutions.

This remote role requires strong communication, hands-on industrial data experience, and travel up to 25% to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years Ignition experience including custom development.
• Strong experience with web UI development: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for application logic and automation.
• Solid experience with SQL databases and relational data models.
• Experience integrating external systems via REST APIs or web services.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI systems and live industrial data.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive industrial web applications using Ignition Perspective.
• Extend Ignition components using JavaScript, CSS, and Python scripting.
• Build modular, maintainable architectures for long-term scalability.
• Connect equipment to Ignition using OPC, Kepware, tags, and related technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot real-time and historical data collection.
• Integrate applications with SQL databases, SAP, SharePoint, Active Directory, REST APIs.
• Produce clear technical documentation and solution architecture diagrams.
