Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Digital Manufacturing Engineer to design and build responsive industrial web applications on the Ignition Perspective platform. You will integrate real-time and historical plant data, connect equipment and control systems, and create scalable, maintainable architectures for long-term use.

The role requires strong web UI skills, Python scripting for automation, and experience with SQL databases and OT data such as SCADA/HMI.

Qualifications

• Strong web UI development foundation with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and modern UI patterns.
• Python scripting for application logic, automation, and Ignition extensions.
• SQL databases and relational data modeling, including efficient queries for operational use.
• Experience integrating external systems using REST APIs or web services.
• Hands-on industrial/OT data experience with SCADA/HMI concepts; OPC/Kepware/configuration and historian data experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive industrial web applications using Ignition Perspective and customize components with JavaScript, CSS, and Python.
• Integrate real-time and historical plant-floor data by connecting equipment and control systems via OPC, Kepware, tags, and historian data sources.
• Build modular, maintainable architectures supporting scalability, reuse, and reliability.
• Site visits to understand equipment workflows and translate needs into intuitive end-user visualizations.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, diagnostics, and documentation to meet performance, security, reliability, and compliance requirements.

What's the Job?

• Design and develop responsive industrial web applications using Ignition Perspective, extending out-of-the-box components with JavaScript, CSS, and Python scripting.
• Integrate real-time and historical plant-floor data into scalable applications by connecting equipment and control systems using OPC, Kepware, tags, and historian data sources.
• Build modular, maintainable application architectures that support long-term scalability, reuse, and operational reliability.
• Work directly in the manufacturing environment during site visits to understand equipment workflows, determine required data, and translate needs into intuitive visualizations for end users.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, diagnostics, and technical documentation to meet performance, security, reliability, and compliance requirements.

What's Needed?

• Strong web UI development foundation: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and modern UI patterns.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for application logic, automation, and Ignition-related extensions.
• Solid experience with SQL databases and relational data modeling, including designing efficient queries for operational use.
• Experience integrating external systems using REST APIs or web services.
• Hands‑on industrial/OT data experience with SCADA/HMI concepts and live industrial data; experience configuring/troubleshooting OPC connections, tags, and historian data is required (Ignition, Kepware, and Canary experience preferred).
