Job summary

Oregon Sea Grant at Oregon State University is seeking a part-time Digital Asset Management and Communications Undergraduate Student Assistant. You will audit and reorganize the digital photo archive, document metadata, and ensure consistent tagging across channels.

Hours are 8-12 per week with flexible work location. Prior Flickr experience is a plus; you will support various communications tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard.

Responsibilities

• Audit and organize Oregon Sea Grant’s digital photo archive by reviewing Flickr albums and developing an intuitive structure.
• Identify, document, and apply metadata including photographer, date, location, subjects, keywords and usage rights.
• Maintain consistent tagging and naming using controlled vocabulary for easy search and reuse.
• Review image rights, attribution and privacy settings and flag for staff review as needed.
• Perform other communications duties as requested by supervisor.
