Pacific University in Oregon seeks a part-time FWS Work-Study: Research and Science Communication Assistant to support the OTTER Lab's wildlife research and science communication efforts. You will help with data management, field content, and visual storytelling for web and social media.

The ideal student is reliable, organized, with attention to detail and interest in wildlife research. Experience with photography, video, or Adobe Lightroom is a plus; training provided.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, attentive to detail, and interested in wildlife research and science communication.
• Experience with social media, photography, videography, Adobe Lightroom, or photo/video editing is valuable, but not required.
• Students from Psychology, Biology, Environmental Science, Media Arts, Communications, Marketing, or related areas are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Observe tools and techniques for ethological research.
• Assist with transferring, organizing, and entering wildlife data from photographs into Wildlife Insights.
• Document field work through photography and short-form video for web and social media.
• Create engaging visual content that communicates field research, student experiences, wildlife, and the scientific process.
• Occasional availability outside standard work hours may be necessary.
