Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to drive IaC and CI/CD across cloud environments. You will own Terraform-based infrastructure and automated pipelines, working with development and platform teams to boost velocity, reliability, and security.

A hands-on engineer who can design and deliver with minimal oversight is ideal. You will collaborate with security and architecture, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with Terraform, cloud

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required at time of hire.
• 5+ years of DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Hands-on production experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code across multi-environment cloud deployments.
• Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of core cloud services (networking, IAM, load balancing, monitoring/logging).
• Experience with Git and code review practices for infrastructure and pipeline code.
• Scripting/automation ability (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular Terraform code for provisioning cloud infra across dev, staging, and production environments.
• Implement Terraform state management, workspace strategy, and module versioning.
• Establish IaC best practices: code reviews, automated plan/apply, drift detection, policy-as-code guardrails.
• Collaborate with architecture and security teams to meet baselines and compliance.
• Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment of applications and infrastructure.
• Mentor juniors on Terraform and CI/CD practices.
• Stay current with Terraform/cloud/CI-CD tech and recommend improvements.
