Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an Edifecs DevSecOps Engineer to lead cloud initiatives for the Veterans Affairs (VA) division. This remote, full-time role requires deep AWS expertise, DevSecOps practices, and the ability to design secure, scalable cloud solutions.

You will drive CI/CD pipelines, manage multi-account AWS environments, and implement monitoring and security controls in VA EC2/S3/RDS ecosystems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and aligning with federal

Qualifications

• Proven track record deploying and managing AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with large-scale, HA, scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong AWS security practices including IAM, Shield, and WAF.
• Experience with multi-account AWS environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or NodeJS for automation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS compliance in cloud.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the migration to the cloud.
• Create diagrams for cloud infrastructure and architectures.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation.
• Manage cloud permissions for all AWS accounts and services.
• Implement monitoring for cloud-hosted systems per policy.
• Provide cloud support for VAEC AWS GovCloud environments.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional projects.
• Maintain documentation for configurations and processes.
