Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced Application Engineer - DevOps & Engineering Tools to deploy, administer, and support enterprise COTS software across on-prem and cloud environments. You will partner with engineering teams to migrate legacy systems to container-based, cloud-hosted, Git-based solutions and help drive software modernization. The role is remote with occasional travel to on-site locations; candidates must be eligible for a U.S.

government security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Experience deploying and supporting server-based hosted COTS applications and databases in an enterprise environment (GITLAB, Jira, Azure Devops Server, Jenkins, etc.).
Hands-on experience using Docker and/or Podman.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Deploy, sustain, and support enterprise software across on-prem and cloud environments using DevSecOps principles.
Develop and maintain deployment automation, container orchestration scripts, and IaC templates.
Configure and harden cybersecurity and compliance posture of hosted solutions.
Assist engineering teams with supporting, optimizing, and integrating build/test pipelines.
Resolve incidents and contribute to internal knowledge base articles.
Plan migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms and present performance metrics to leadership.
