Job summary

Orion is seeking a DevOps engineer to evolve Sonos’ embedded software build system in a fast‑moving environment. You will design, build, analyze, and refactor core build components used by hundreds of engineers to deliver reliable product software.

Your work will support Yocto LTS maintenance and third‑party library upgrades. Ideal candidates have strong Yocto/OpenEmbedded, cross‑compilation, and embedded Linux experience, plus Git/PR/CI workflow proficiency in a multi‑platform codebase.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Yocto/OpenEmbedded development, including recipe writing and maintenance.
• Cross‑compilation and toolchain concepts.
• Embedded Linux platforms across ARM SoCs.
• Git/PR/CI workflow experience on a large, multi‑platform codebase.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, analyze, enhance, and refactor elements of the build system used to develop Sonos products.
• Support regular third‑party library upgrade cycles tied to Yocto LTS releases.
• Patch third‑party libraries as needed as part of Yocto maintenance releases.
