Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Platform Engineer 2 to join its Software Infrastructure Engineering team in Aurora, CO. You will help develop and deploy modernized infrastructure solutions for critical defense projects, leveraging DevOps practices and container technologies.

You will collaborate with systems and software engineers, participate in agile development, and contribute to CI/CD efforts while applying basic engineering principles to solve complex problems for mission critical workloads.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Master’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience.
• Experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Bash, or Shell.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Linux, Windows, or other system operating systems at the command line.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance with U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure and DevOps build and automation activities using Python, Ruby, Java, Bash, or Shell.
• Design, develop, and implement modernized software infrastructure with Ansible, Chef, and the Atlassian Tool Suite.
• Develop and deploy containerized solutions using Docker, Rancher, and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to improve software development and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to design, test, and integrate complex software and systems.
• Participate in agile development processes and provide input for planning and design.
• Apply engineering principles to solve technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Support network design and architecture, integrating cloud technologies like AWS or Google Cloud.
