Job summary

MasTec Industrial seeks a Development Engineer to provide technical direction to design efforts and to support projects from concept through commissioning. The role requires mechanical design expertise in a construction setting and experience with gas-fired power generation facilities, including combined cycle projects.

This is a remote role based anywhere in the United States with up to 30% travel. You will review proposals, develop technical bids, manage subcontractors, and contribute to

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• PE Certification and desire/ability to obtain PE in other states as required for projects.
• Capable of visiting construction sites and operating industrial plants.

Responsibilities

• Review RFP/RFQ/Contract packages for technical requirements.
• Prepare and maintain proposal technical exceptions and clarifications during the proposal process.
• Develop technical bid packages for equipment and subcontractors.
• Prepare technical evaluations and recommendations for equipment/subcontractors.
• Monitor, support, and administer technical subcontractors.
• Review engineering deliverables for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Manage 3rd party engineers for progress, quality, and cost for specific discipline.
• Provide input to schedule development and estimating regarding quantities and scope.
• Support development of project reports and status updates.
• Facilitate constructability reviews with engineering and construction parties.
• Support construction and commissioning during/after design engineering (RFI responses).
• Visit sites on-site as required and monitor subcontractors.
