Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks a Development Director, School Engagement. This remote, field-based role covers Wyoming and Fort Collins, CO, traveling to hundreds of schools to promote Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge.

You will manage fundraising, engage volunteers, and maintain CRM data while collaborating with teachers and administrators and offering flexible hours including early mornings and evenings.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or other related experience.
• Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work productively from a home office and in the field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive data management with CRM databases; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift/move large objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and engage students through schools and districts in Life-saving initiatives like Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge.
• Implement strategies to engage students through classroom challenges, activities, and assemblies.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with teachers, principals, and district superintendents.
• Establish and maintain outstanding customer service with volunteers and collaborators; plan kick-off meetings.
• Manage and update account information within CRM databases and Microsoft products.
• Handle high-volume account management with 5-10 schools daily, in person or via phone/online.
