Job summary

Prefect seeks a Developer Success Engineer to support Prefect and Dagster customers. You diagnose issues in customer environments, own tickets end-to-end, and contribute to docs, tooling and product feedback to reduce future volume.

This remote-first role follows a 9am–5pm Pacific schedule with on-call rotation. Base salary ranges for SF Bay Area/NYC metro: $149k–$176k, with equity and benefits described separately. Your location and experience influence the final offer.

Qualifications

• Python fluency at reading/ debugging level, not only writing.
• Hands-on experience running workloads in cloud and containers or Kubernetes.
• Experience with a workflow orchestrator (Prefect, Dagster, Airflow, or comparable).
• Track record of technical, customer-facing work (support/solutions engineering).
• Clear written communication to explain root causes to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues in customer environments for Prefect and Dagster.
• Own each ticket end-to-end and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to documentation, tooling, and product feedback to reduce future volume.
• Build and maintain automation/tools to support the queue and customers.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Product on recurring failure patterns.
