Job summary

Prefect is hiring a Developer Success Engineer to join our remote-first team and support customers across Prefect and Dagster products. You will diagnose complex issues, own end-to-end resolutions, and contribute to docs, tooling, and product feedback to reduce future volumes.

You’ll combine Python fluency, cloud and Kubernetes experience, and a customer‑facing track record to guide deployments, provide clear updates, and help escalate when needed, all while building deep expertise in

Qualifications

• Must have: Python fluency and ability to read and debug others' code.
• Hands-on experience running workloads in cloud environments and containers or Kubernetes.
• Experience with a workflow orchestrator (Prefect, Dagster, Airflow, or similar).
• Track record of technical, customer-facing work (support/solutions engineering).
• Clear written communication to explain root causes to senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Operate the combined Prefect and Dagster support queue end-to-end for moderate-complexity issues.
• Diagnose problems, provide evidence-based updates, and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to documentation, tooling, and product feedback to reduce future issues.
• Maintain customer contact as the single point of contact during escalations and communicate updates.
