Job summary

Airbyte is hiring a Customer Support Developer (Databases) to blend software engineering with customer empathy. You’ll write Java/Kotlin, contribute to open-source connectors, and help customers move data across databases, lakes, and warehouses.

You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, reproduce bugs from logs, and guide onboarding for CDC architectures and authentication. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Solutions Engineering, and Sales to ensure customer success and quick, reliable

Qualifications

• Fluency in SQL with hands-on query plan analysis.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin for connector code.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and CDC concepts.
• Experience debugging JDBC connections and credentials.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and ELT/ETL concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting and clear communication; self-starter mindset.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical escalation point for database issues; communicate via email, tickets, and video calls.
• Triage issues with SLA targets; leverage AI tools to resolve faster.
• Diagnose issues across databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud storage; collaborate with Engineering for fixes.
• Contribute to Airbyte's open-source connectors and Bulk CDK with robust error handling.
• Educate customers and internal teams; maintain internal knowledge and runbooks.
