Job summary

Airbyte is seeking a Customer Support Developer (Databases) who combines hands-on Java/Kotlin coding with strong customer empathy to support our cloud, embedded, and open-source data-integration platform.

You’ll troubleshoot database-related issues, review query plans and logs, and contribute to open-source connectors, while collaborating with Engineering and Product to improve reliability and performance for customers moving data between databases, warehouses, and lakes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software development with focus on databases.
• Experience debugging and shipping features for open-source database connectors.
• Strong understanding of JDBC, SQL tuning, and CDC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Triage and troubleshoot database-related customer issues with precision.
• Contribute to Airbyte’s database connectors and open-source codebase.
• Collaborate with Engineering/Product to improve reliability and performance.
• Guide customers through CDC setup, schema evolution, and authentication.
• Review logs, query plans, and replication state to drive fixes.
