Job summary

DrFirst is a remote-first healthcare IT company seeking an Application Engineer - Database to provide advanced technical support for DrFirst applications. You will diagnose, reproduce, and resolve complex issues escalated by internal teams, act as the primary escalation point for Tier 2, and drive automation using Python and scripting tools.

Responsibilities include triaging cases, SLAs adherence, DB queries, data integrity, and cross-team collaboration to address root causes and improve

Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred.
Expert knowledge of relational databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL), using PL/SQL and ability to write complex SQL queries.
Proficiency in Python and scripting for automation, data analysis, and process improvement.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, monitoring tools, and incident management workflows.
2+ years of professional Tier 1/Tier 2 experience.

Responsibilities

Triage cases escalated from Tier 2 to determine root cause of client-reported issues.
Manage all assigned cases according to SLAs.
Resolve issues by querying production databases and performing in-depth troubleshooting.
Contribute to process improvements within Operations to reduce ticket volume.
Develop Python scripts and tooling to drive automation and efficiency.
Collaborate with Development and Product teams to reproduce issues in test environments.
Maintain production data integrity and troubleshoot data-loading issues.
