Job summary

Stelo, a StarQuest Company, is seeking a Software Engineer to advance the data replication engine—moving live data across Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud platforms using C++ and Java. You will work on a small remote team and own features through production with AI-assisted coding oversight.

You will join a fully remote, Pacific-time aligned team, contributing to performance, reliability, and scalable design while benefiting from competitive compensation and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and database internals understanding including logs and replication.
• 5+ years building production backend or systems software in C++.
• Experience with ODBC/JDBC, including connection lifecycle and diagnostics.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable in a fully remote team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain core components of the replication engine from capture through apply.
• Integrate with Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and cloud platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery.
• Keep replication correct, resilient, and fast across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with support, QA, and product to ship robust fixes and enhancements.
• Contribute to design decisions for APIs and data structures to support cross-database tooling.
