Job summary

Stelo, a StarQuest Company, is hiring a Software Engineer to join the data replication engine written in C++ and Java. You will design, build, test, and maintain core components, integrate with Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.

The role favors database knowledge and remote collaboration across teams. We seek a database-focused engineer with 5+ years in backend systems, strong SQL, multithreading, and experience with JDBC/ODBC,

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production systems-level or backend software in C++.
• Strong SQL and understanding of database internals, transaction logs, and replication.
• Hands-on ODBC or JDBC experience with lifecycle and diagnostics.
• Multithreading and synchronization in C++ across Windows and Linux.
• Cross-platform C++ development and debugging/profiling in both environments.
• Professional use of AI coding assistants with critical review of output.
• Clear written and spoken communication in a fully remote team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain core components of the replication engine.
• Integrate with sources/targets including Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and cloud platforms.
• Keep replication fast and resilient across on-prem and cloud; tune data movement.
• Collaborate with support, QA, and product to ship fixes and enhancements.
• Shape design decisions for APIs, data structures, and cross-database configuration.
• Write well-documented, testable code and review teammates’ code.
