Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments, including DLP, DSPM, and de-identification solutions. You will tune policies, manage exceptions, and troubleshoot incidents with a focus on HIPAA compliance.

The role requires 5 years in DLP and information security, hands-on engineering skills, and experience with GCP/AWS/Azure. Advanced cloud certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5 years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell).
• 3 years of experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field.
• Master's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field.
• Advanced certifications in cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain DLP/DSPM components across platforms to ensure security and performance.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions in on-premises and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure policies, tune detection, manage exception lists and related settings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data protection incidents with root-cause analysis and escalation as needed.
• Assist with testing, implementation, and documentation of data protection projects; participate in project meetings.
• Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python) to improve deployment and maintenance efficiency.
