Job summary

Kin seeks a Data Product Manager to enable data products behind pricing, underwriting, actuarial analysis, and claims. You will partner with data engineering to assemble datasets that drive decisions and maintain a single source of truth for core insurance metrics.

You will own data quality, define metrics clearly, and collaborate across pricing, actuarial, underwriting, claims, and data engineering to deliver high-impact results for Kinfolk and homeowners.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years in product management, data analytics, or a role close to insurance.
• Strong sense for how data informs pricing, underwriting, actuarial, or claims decisions.
• Advanced SQL skills to pull and join data from multiple sources.
• Experience with Databricks/Looker or similar modern data stack.

Responsibilities

• Dig past the first request to the real decision the team is trying to make.
• Enable data products from datasets feeding a rate review and claims views.
• Connect data across systems (Snapsheet, Xactimate, RMS, Verisk) to ensure understanding of changes.
• Proactively build datasets ahead of questions to speed insights.
• Scope and deliver data products in partnership with data engineering.
• Own the data layer as the single source of truth for core insurance metrics.
• Ensure metrics definitions are precise before shipping to guide pricing and risk decisions.
• Improve data quality and instrumentation for trusted numbers.
• Translate multi-source data into a clear, actionable narrative.
