Job summary

Virta Health is seeking an Engineering Manager for Data Engineering to lead and grow the data foundations that support care delivery and AI capabilities. You will manage both Data Engineers (platform) and Analytics Engineers (models), ensuring reliable pipelines, tooling, and standardized analytics.

You will shape the data modernization, enable self-service, and collaborate with stakeholders to align roadmaps with business outcomes while advancing governance, security, and ML-ready data access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years in engineering management of data/analytics teams.
• Experience leading data platform migrations with data validation and stakeholder adoption.
• Ability to translate business problems into actionable roadmaps.
• Proven track record building reusable data capabilities for multiple teams.
• Experience hiring, coaching, and managing performance in remote/asynchronous settings.
• Excellent communication with technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow both data engineering and analytics engineering teams.
• Oversee data and analytics migration, including BigQuery and Looker Core rollout.
• Own discovery, priorities, and delivery with cross-functional partners.
• Expand self-service data capabilities and tooling.
• Own analytics model quality, semantic definitions, and LookML.
• Advance data capabilities for agents and ML with governance and security.
• Improve team processes using AI-assisted development and automation.
