Job summary

Virta Health is seeking an Engineering Manager for Data Engineering to lead a team of data and analytics engineers. The role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, platform tooling, and analytics models that support care delivery and AI capabilities.

You will guide migration to modern data architectures, expand self-service, and ensure trusted data for stakeholders. Lead the team through BigQuery architectural upgrades and Looker Core rollout, while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading data and analytics teams.
• Strong judgment across data pipelines, cloud data warehouses, SQL, and BI/semantic layers.
• Experience migrating large data platforms with stakeholder adoption.
• Ability to discover stakeholder needs and translate into roadmaps.
• Proven track record building reusable data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow both data engineering and analytics engineering teams.
• Oversee data and analytics migration, validate metrics, retire legacy paths.
• Own discovery, priorities, and delivery across stakeholders.
• Expand self-service with reusable ingestion and transformation patterns.
• Advance analytics engineering quality with dbt models and LookML.
• Partner with Applied AI and MLOps on data access for ML workflows.
• Improve reliability, governance, and incident practices.
