Job summary

Gymdesk is seeking a Data Migration Specialist to join the Customer Success team. You will collect, clean, map, and import customer data from prior software so businesses are ready to run on day one.

This role blends technical work with clear communication and customer support. You will collaborate with Onboarding Specialists and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data migration, resolve discrepancies, and continuously improve migration tooling and processes for a growing remote-first

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data migration, data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar technical role.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, CSV handling, text encoding, date formats, and data cleansing techniques.
• Experience with SaaS platforms, CRM, ERP, or customer-facing data workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Mapping: Review customer data (CSVs, spreadsheets, software databases) to assess structure, quality, and completeness.
• Data Analysis & Mapping: Map legacy data fields to our platform's schema using internal tools, AI, or scripts.
• Migration Execution: Transform, clean, and normalize customer data.
• Migration Execution: Import data into Gymdesk environments and validate outputs.
• Migration Execution: Perform iterative migrations and troubleshoot errors.
• Product Expertise & Manual Data Entry: Fill migration gaps with manual data entry when required.
• Product Expertise & Manual Data Entry: Become an expert in Gymdesk's product to set up configurations for customers.
• Customer Communication: Coordinate with Onboarding Specialists and customers to collect requirements and data formats.
• Customer Communication: Provide status updates, clarify data issues, and help customers understand field-level discrepancies.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work with product and engineering to report bugs or tooling enhancements.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement: Document migration processes and maintain internal guides for repeatable success.
