Job summary

Applied Systems is seeking a Manager, Data Migration to lead a team of Data Migration Engineers responsible for moving customer data from competitors and legacy systems into Applied Systems SaaS products. This remote Canada role partners with global teams to deliver end-to-end migration projects using a Follow the Sun model.

You will guide technical work, set priorities, monitor quality dashboards, and collaborate with Onboarding, Success, Development, Operations, and Support to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading technical teams and coaching with clear goals and constructive feedback.
• Strong working knowledge of database structures and SQL; ability to review scripts with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data Migration Engineers with regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Own team performance using data dashboards and workload metrics.
• Provide technical guidance on data migration approaches including script and scope reviews.
• Adapt priorities as resources and timelines change to deliver high-impact work.
• Monitor projects daily/weekly; manage risks and escalations across tools (Slack, Jira, email).
• Review and approve scripts, development tickets, and post-activation scripts per policies.
• Support quality control with dashboards and fixes for issues.
• Manage team costs, timesheets, and weekend coverage hours.
• Recommend changes to policies and tooling; keep documentation current.
• Collaborate with Development, Operations, cloud/engineering to resolve defects and evolve solutions.
• Coordinate cross-region handoffs and schedules with peers; communicate updates clearly.
• Participate in weekend rotation for go/no-go decisions.
• Advance department initiatives like cloud-based data platforms (BigQuery) and intelligent tooling.
