Job summary

Independence Pet Group is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support our governance program across catalogs, metadata, and data quality. You will partner with Security, Engineering, Legal, and business teams to enable trusted data assets and compliant data practices.

You will drive stewardship initiatives, manage Osano for privacy and governance, and oversee MDM related workflows, with a focus on scalable governance maturity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience implementing data catalog platforms with metadata management.
• Experience building a Data Stewardship Program from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, metadata, cataloging, lineage, and stewardship.
• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog or similar governance platforms.
• Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) and data quality processes.
• Ability to collaborate across Data Governance, Security, Engineering, Product, and business teams.
• Experience measuring governance adoption, data quality, and operational metrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the enterprise Data Catalog in partnership with the Data Governance team.
• Lead the data catalog roadmap, including metadata collection, asset onboarding, data classification, and data lineage.
• Support and administer Databricks Unity Catalog, including data asset registration and access governance.
• Partner with data owners, stewards, and engineering teams to improve data discoverability and governance adoption.
• Design, implement, and lead the Data Stewardship Program aligned with catalog deployment.
• Serve as the administrator for Osano, managing enhancements and compliance requests.
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) platforms and governance processes.
• Monitor governance metrics and usage trends, providing optimization recommendations.
• Support governance projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
• Develop governance documentation, standards, and procedural guidance.
