Job summary

Independence Pet Group seeks a Data Governance Analyst to manage governance tech, metadata, and MDM. You will lead cataloging, lineage, and data stewardship initiatives, partner with security, engineering, and business teams, and coordinate Osano governance efforts. Strong collaboration and documentation are essential.

You will drive data quality and governance maturity across diverse brands, ensuring scalable data management practices and compliance across North America.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Governance/Data Management or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience implementing and administering data catalog platforms.
• Experience building and operationalizing a Data Stewardship Program from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, cataloging and data lineage.
• Experience supporting Databricks Unity Catalog or similar governance platforms.
• Familiarity with MDM solutions and data quality processes.
• Ability to collaborate across governance, security, engineering, product and business teams.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks and operating models.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the enterprise Data Catalog with the Data Governance team.
• Lead the data catalog roadmap, onboarding, classification, glossary, and lineage.
• Support Databricks Unity Catalog: registration, metadata management, access governance.
• Partner with data owners and engineers to improve data discoverability and governance adoption.
• Design and lead the Data Stewardship Program aligned with catalog deployment.
• Serve as admin for Osano, handling enhancements, issues, compliance requests, vendor coordination.
• Support MDM platforms, stewardship workflows, and data quality initiatives.
• Monitor adoption, governance metrics, and usage trends, recommending improvements.
• Support data governance projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
• Develop governance documentation, standards and operational procedures.
