Connections in Ohio is seeking a Data Entry Specialist to manage inbound faxed documents, enter data, and route information to support patient scheduling, billing, and clinical workflows. The role is temporary/PRN and requires accuracy under a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities include reviewing diverse documents, uploading to patient charts, and verifying demographic and insurance details across payer categories to keep operations compliant and efficient.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and classify inbound faxed documents (clinical notes, reports, authorizations, etc.).
• Upload documents into patient charts and route to appropriate departments.
• Validate patient records and resolve duplicate accounts.
• Enter demographic, insurance and billing details across payer categories.
• Process and validate orders/referrals ensuring accuracy (modality, ICD-10, urgency).
• Submit provider updates and ensure credentialing compliance.

Job description

Connections in Ohio is looking for a Data Entry to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for managing inbound documentation through the fax queue, ensuring timely and accurate processing, data entry, and routing of information that supports patient scheduling, billing, and clinical workflows. This is a temporary/PRN position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Document Intake & Processing

• Review and classify inbound faxed documents, including but not limited to clinical notes, diagnostic reports, insurance authorizations/denials, lab/pathology results, demographic sheets, medical records requests, radiology orders, and legal/workers' compensation/attorney paperwork

• Upload documents into patient charts, route to appropriate departments, or initiate follow-up workflows as required

• Locate and validate patient records and resolve duplicate accounts/records

• Enter and validate all required demographic information and insurance and billing details across all payer categories (Commercial/Government, Workers' Compensation, Auto/PI, Attorney/LOP, Self-Pay)

• Process and validate orders/referrals to ensure complete and accurate information (modality, body part, contrast, laterality, ICD-10 coding, urgency status, provider comments)

• Confirm referring provider details, submit provider update requests (RPDs), and ensure compliance with credentialing standards and payer regulations

(10%) Other Duties as Assigned

• Initiate necessary follow-up with referring physicians and/or patients as required

• Support cross-functional administrative projects or department initiatives as assigned

• Participate in training, audits, and process improvement activities

• Provide backup coverage for related administrative workflows during high-volume periods or team member absences

Requirements:

Required:

• High school diploma, or equivalent

• One (1) year customer service and/or data entry experience

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc

• Proficient using computer systems and typing

• Ability to successfully use a multi-level phone system, receiving a high volume of calls, at one time

Preferred:

• Medical terminology background

• Two (2) years' customer service and data entry experience

Additional Requirements:

• 21 years or older

• High school diploma/GED

• Valid Driver License (4 points or less)

• Reliable transportation and Auto Insurance
