Job summary

SHI is seeking a Solutions Engineer, Data Engineering to design, build, and deliver enterprise-scale data pipelines using Azure and Microsoft Fabric. You’ll work with stakeholders to implement secure, scalable data platforms for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases in a primarily remote role.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience delivering modern data engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong engineering foundation across data pipelines, lakehouse/warehouse architectures, and relational data platforms.
• Experience designing and operating production data platforms with data modeling, incremental processing, monitoring, and support.
• Solid understanding of data security, governance, and compliance (identity, encryption, regulated data).
• Experience in consulting or project-based delivery environments with client stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, source control, testing, and environment promotion.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using Azure data services.
• Build and optimize data lakehouse and warehouse solutions for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop data models, ETL/ELT processes, and historical data versioning for multi-source datasets.
• Configure and manage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 environments and data lifecycle.
• Implement data validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and quality controls for trusted data platforms.
• Collaborate with BI/analytics teams to prepare data for reporting and AI workloads.
• Apply security best practices including encryption and access control; ensure HIPAA/NIST alignment.
• Support data governance, lineage, and operational readiness; monitor pipelines and provide runbooks.
