Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a fully remote Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python experience to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines powering a self-service platform. You will assist in modernizing data ingestion, transformation, and serving across the company, with guidance from senior engineers and access to AI development tools.

You will contribute to a platform enabling data owners to ingest, transform, and serve data, collaborating across teams, writing tests, and participating in code

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong SQL - writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
• Proficiency with Git-based version control and PR workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Contribute to data modeling and maintain data integrity in the Snowflake platform.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven streams for real-time data ingestion.
• Write unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and monitor deployments post-release.
• Implement logging/observability and respond to production alerts.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and leverage AI tools to improve development speed.
