Job summary

Integrated Data Services Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to support the Navy’s acquisition transformation program, building scalable data pipelines, APIs, and data products.

You will own production pipelines, write code, and help set engineering standards while supporting a growing data platform across multiple services and the DoW. Hybrid/remote role with some travel to government facilities in the National Capital Region; candidates must be US-based and able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, software engineering, information systems, mathematics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Experience in lieu of education may be considered if seven or more years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production data pipelines in SQL, PL/SQL, Java, and Python across Oracle, Talend, and Apigee stack in an IL-4/5 environment.
• Integrate and transform acquisition and financial datasets into reliable, reusable data products.
• Develop data models and analytics datasets that drive enterprise reporting and operational decisions.
• Build and maintain REST API integrations for ingesting and exchanging data across systems.
• Migrate data from legacy systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune scheduled workflows for performance, reliability, and scale.
• Implement data validation, quality checks, lineage, and governance practices that build trust in the data.
• Contribute to automated testing, code reviews, documentation, and reusable engineering patterns.
• Shape physical database design for performance, scaling, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
