Job summary

Integrated Data Services (IDS) is seeking a Data Engineer to support the Navy’s acquisition transformation strategy by building scalable data pipelines, APIs, and data products that improve how critical information is integrated, accessed, and used. You will work hands-on with complex acquisition and finance data to develop production-ready capabilities and reusable engineering patterns.

This role is based in the Washington, DC/DMV area and is currently remote; periodic travel to government

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or related field
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline
Experience building and operating production ETL/ELT pipelines
Experience with REST APIs and data integration
Desirable: DoW acquisition and finance data experience
Desirable: IL-4/5 government cloud or similar secure environments

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate production data pipelines using SQL, PL/SQL, Java, and Python
Integrate and transform acquisition and financial data into reusable data products
Develop data models and analytics datasets for enterprise reporting
Build and maintain REST API integrations for data exchange
Migrate data from legacy systems
Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and reliability
Contribute to automated testing, code reviews, and documentation
Shape physical database design for performance, security, and disaster recovery
