Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a fully remote Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python experience to join our Data Engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and platform infrastructure powering a new self-service data application across the company.

You will work with senior engineers, implement CI/CD using GitHub Actions, optimize Snowflake data warehouse queries, and contribute to data modeling and testing.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse or platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Databricks).
• Proficiency with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Contribute to data modeling and integrity of datasets in the Snowflake platform.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven event streams for real-time data ingestion under senior guidance.
• Write clean, well-tested code and ensure unit/integration test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and CI/CD validation after deployment.
• Implement logging/observability and respond to production alerts as part of on-call.
• Communicate blockers clearly and escalate issues as needed.
• Leverage AI tools (Claude, Snowflake CoCo, Copilot) to speed up development.
