Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a fully remote Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines powering an internal self-service platform. You will collaborate with a growing team to improve data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

You will work with Snowflake, Kafka, and modern data tooling, contribute to testing and observability, and participate in CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and Copilot. This role offers autonomy and mentorship from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL with ability to optimize complex queries on large datasets.
• Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse or data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Databricks).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Contribute to data modeling and maintain data integrity within Snowflake.
• Integrate with Kafka-driven event streams for real-time data ingestion.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and monitor pipeline health.
• Implement logging and observability instrumentation and respond to production alerts.
• Communicate blockers and progress clearly; seek mentorship from seniors.
• Leverage AI tools (Claude, Snowflake CoCo, Copilot) to accelerate development.
• Familiarity with REST API integration patterns.
