Job summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated Deputy Design Manager to support colocation and hyperscale data center projects from site due diligence through design, construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience supporting project and design managers on data center projects within an A/E environment.

This role offers a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication (written/oral) and organization skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations.
• BA/BS + 4 years or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Manager in daily project coordination activities across disciplines.
• Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, progressing toward independent ownership.
• Capture accurate technical notes during interdisciplinary meetings and coordinate with discipline leads to confirm accuracy.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings and track key decisions, risks, and action items.
• Proactively assist in tracking, managing, and communicating project changes internally and externally.
• Grow into serving as backup to the Design Manager when required.
