Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Data Center Control System Designer to join our Buildings and Places group. This position is remote with potential travel to client sites; you will design state‑of‑the‑art automation and SCADA systems for data centers and critical infrastructure across the globe, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and ICT teams.

The role requires BAS/PLC experience and strong knowledge of OT networks, with a focus on cyber security specs and US codes. Open to remote candidates in US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience
• 4+ years as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer (I&C) or controls contractor
• Experience with BAS & PLC control systems
• Experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with mechanical design team to develop control sequences, diagrams, and points lists for mechanical systems
• Coordinate with electrical design team on network architectures and points lists for electrical distribution and conditioning systems
• Coordinate with ICT design team to coordinate structured ethernet cabling interfaces to control panels and end devices
• Design resilient OT networks for control systems including ethernet and serial networks
• Develop basis of design (BOD) for BAS, PLC and PMS controllers, instrumentation and software
• Develop and tailor division 23/25 controls, instrumentation, and cyber security specifications
• Develop and tailor division 26 power monitoring specifications with electrical team
• Verify compliance with US codes and engineering standards
• Work with templated models for system deployment and changes
• Coordinate with other disciplines for cohesive design
• Be detail-oriented and able to see the big picture
