Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 2+ years of building MEP electrical design experience to join our data center team. The role provides hands-on experience with medium- and low-voltage power systems, lighting, life safety, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 2 years of building MEP electrical design experience.
• Experience with Revit and ACC preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical power systems and engineering calculations.
• Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• EIT certification or progress toward PE license is a plus.
• Experience with mission-critical or data-center projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical systems for mission critical and data center facilities, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems.
• Perform electrical calculations and assist with equipment sizing, load calculations, and other engineering analyses.
• Develop electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Apply applicable codes and standards, including the NEC, to electrical design and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and other disciplines.
• Support senior engineers in resolving technical and construction‑related issues.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Develop knowledge of data center electrical systems, including reliability, redundancy, and maintainability requirements.
• Continue developing technical and professional skills through project experience, mentoring, and training.
