Education Resource Strategies (ERS) is seeking a Senior Data & Systems Analyst for SPEND, a national education finance data initiative. The role blends data analytics with policy insight to modernize data pipelines and support ML pilots while aligning methods with user needs.

You will collaborate with scientists and engineers, manage data quality, and contribute to building transparent, shareable data products from a robust cloud infrastructure. Remote work in the U.S. is supported.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and familiarity with modern cloud data infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with version control through git in a professional setting.
• Demonstrated experience working as part of a high‑performing technical team.
• Experience translating analytical models and findings into clear policy insights.
• Experience working with messy and inconsistently structured datasets.
• Availability: Must be available for core working hours of 10 AM – 5 PM ET.
• Travel: 4–6 times per year for in‑person team collaboration, with approximately 2–3 additional trips per year.
• Remote Work: Access to a quiet, professional remote work environment with reliable internet.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work for an employer in the United States. Sponsorship not provided.

Aufgaben

• Support internal data systems and ingestion processes through data pipelines.
• Assist the Senior Associate Data Scientist to enhance federal school finance data collections through data product development.
• Build and maintain QA processes to identify anomalies and outliers in district- and state-level financial data.
• Incorporate long‑term obligations such as pension and facilities expenditures.
• Implement processes to incorporate contributions from subcontractor SMEs.
• Support development and release of data products to share SPEND data.
