Job summary

DataKind is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a fully remote role based in the United States. You will coordinate Education portfolio projects, manage grants, and liaise with partner teams across Research, Product, and Data Science. The role requires delivering on funder reports, budgeting, and ensuring timelines are met.

You will collaborate with institutional partners, contribute to applied research, and help align work streams while navigating ambiguity in a growing nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience coordinating complex, externally funded projects.
• Substantive knowledge of education, preferably higher education.
• Ability to anticipate needs and move work forward with minimal direction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for updates and reports.
• Proficiency with project management platforms such as Asana or similar.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across the Education portfolio.
• Manage designated projects and grants, including deliverables, budget tracking, and funder reporting.
• Facilitate planning across Research, Product, Data Science, and partner-facing teams.
• Handle routine project matters with institutional partners and funders, escalating as needed.
• Contribute to applied research and preparation of partner materials and reports.
• Identify and fix gaps in portfolio coordination and tracking.
