Job summary

New Charter Technologies, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity and Compliance Manager to lead programs across NIST CSF, SOC 2, CIS Controls, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS, CMMC, and ISO 27001 from a remote, United States‑based location. You will drive risk assessments, vendor risk, and executive risk reporting while guiding AI governance and security policy development.

This role requires strong client-facing communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance long‑term planning with hands‑on execution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, governance, risk management, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of frameworks including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CMMC, ISO 27001; experience supporting audits.
• Experience conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and managing third-party/vendor risk; familiarity with GRC platforms.
• Proven client-facing communication, ability to advise executives, manage multiple engagements; experience across Windows, macOS, cloud, network, identity environments.
• Certifications such as CISM, CISA or other relevant credentials.
• Past leadership experience managing teams, projects, client engagements, or advisory programs.
• Experience in MSP/MSSP or consulting delivering vCISO or advisory services.
• Experience with security operations, vulnerability management, SIEM, and endpoint security.
• Familiarity with CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Cisco Secure Connect, Meraki, OpenDNS, Jamf, Intune, Azure, OneLogin, Okta.
• Bachelor-level education or equivalent professional experience in information security/IT.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity compliance initiatives across NIST CSF, SOC 2, CIS Controls, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CMMC, ISO 27001.
• Provide vCISO advisory services, including security strategy, roadmaps, and executive reporting.
• Oversee governance, risk, and compliance processes within the Security Program Platform.
• Manage third‑party risk, cyber insurance questionnaires, and vendor due diligence.
• Guide AI governance, policies, data protection and emerging security risks.
• Communicate findings and remediation priorities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support pre‑sales engagements and opportunities to expand client security programs.
• Ensure delivery of security commitments across service tiers and remediation tracking.
