Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking a Cyber Risk and Vulnerability Lead to guide risk assessments, oversee vulnerability management, and ensure DOE systems stay secure and compliant. The role requires collaboration across IT, security, and leadership to implement robust controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
• At least four years of experience performing risk and vulnerability assessments on complex systems.
• Experience in cybersecurity operations and security control assessments.
• Ability to apply cybersecurity policies across IT and cybersecurity services.
• Experience collaborating with IT and cybersecurity leadership to develop secure solutions.
• Ability to obtain a DOE background investigation and DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform cybersecurity, risk, and vulnerability analysis and guidance for systems including NIST and FISMA.
• Communicate findings and recommended resolutions to management and stakeholders.
• Prioritize fixes based on real-world impact, business risk and operational impact.
• Ensure enterprise applications comply with applicable legal, governmental, and industry security requirements.
• Build strong relationships with ISSOs, SOs, and TPOCs across teams.
• Lead security-related audits and reporting, including external assessments.
• Convey complex risks clearly to executives and federal leadership.
• Serve as primary liaison among security teams, contractors, and leadership.
