Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks an Assessment and Authorization Team Lead to guide cybersecurity measures, lead RMF processes, and oversee risk assessments across DOE systems. The role requires extensive RMF experience, cloud security knowledge, and ability to coordinate with government and contractor teams.

The successful candidate will manage assessments, deliver security packages, and drive continuous monitoring efforts, while ensuring compliance with FISMA and NIST standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years of equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, security control assessments, or related technical security functions.
• Experience leading teams in assessing and determining control applicability in cloud and non-cloud environments.
• Lead and oversight for detailed reviews of controls and testing across components.
• Expert knowledge of RMF process and NIST 800-53/CSF.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical knowledge and analysis of A&A and lead RMF phases.
• Lead risk assessments, prepare findings, and present results to leadership.
• Lead reviews of findings, remediation, and security packages for authorization.
• Coordinate remediation milestones and communicate with stakeholders.
• Liaise with ISSOs, SOs, TPOCs, and SCAs.
