Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks an experienced Assessment and Authorization Team Lead to drive RMF activities, assess security controls, and coordinate responses for federal data calls and audits. The role requires deep A&A knowledge, cloud security awareness, and proven leadership across diverse cybersecurity teams.

Based remotely in the U.S., you will lead a team of cybersecurity professionals, interface with government stakeholders, and ensure compliant, secure, and resilient DOE

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity operations or related technical security functions.
• Experience leading teams in assessing control applicability in cloud and non-cloud environments.
• Lead and oversee security control testing and RMF processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication for security documentation.
• Ability to obtain a DOE background investigation and DOE L clearance.
• Clearance requirements are defined by the government contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead all RMF phases with emphasis on planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation and presentation.
• Analyze, resolve, and report issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget; prepare briefings.
• Serve as SME across A&A and risk management; cover trends like Cloud security and ongoing authorization.
• Provide guidance on difficult problems related to A&A and risk management.
• Apply A&A principles to task orders for complex technical problems and automated solutions.
• Conduct briefings to Federal Leadership and coordinate across teams.
• Serve as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
