Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization seeks an Assessments and Authorization Team Lead to guide RMF, A&A, and NIST-based security efforts for DOE systems. You will lead a cybersecurity team, assess controls, and coordinate with leadership to ensure compliant, secure operations.

Remote role with top-tier benefits and a clear path for professional growth, requiring 10+ years in cybersecurity, RMF leadership, and the ability to obtain DOE clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years of equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, security control assessments, or related technical security functions.
• Experience leading teams in assessing and determining control applicability in cloud and non-cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and cybersecurity framework requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessments of existing and new systems, communicate results, and document artifacts.
• Direct a cybersecurity team including Assessors, SAT, ConMon, and DOR FedRAMP Team.
• Oversee security package reviews and guidance during meetings and audits.
• Coordinate remediation activities and milestones with stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison among security teams, system owners, and leadership.
