Job summary

Morrison Express in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Import Specialist to manage customs entries and ISF filings for ocean shipments. You will assist with classifications, invoicing, and compliance under U.S. Customs standards.

The role requires strong data entry skills, knowledge of PGA information (FDA) and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience working in freight forwarding, handling customs business.
• Knowledge of customs compliance and regulations.
• Importation into U.S. commerce.
• Experience filing entries containing PGA information, especially FDA (Medical Devices).
• Experience filing ISFs accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of customs entries.
• ISF Filing for all Ocean Shipments.
• Assisting in product classifications for all customs brokerage shipments.
• Assist with inbound entries and Bonded shipment.
• Support Import Dept of excess shipments Perform audit and review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customs.
• Properly classify the commercial invoices using the US Tariff Book and CROSS as a reference tool.
• Data entry of import AMS information and HTS# - Including transmission to US Customs.
• Preparing entry documentation including 7501 and 3461.
• Specialize in remote location filing.
• Maintains compliance measures for import operation – Maintain document compliance.
• Ensures proper documentation and procedures per U.S. Customs standards.
• Arrange delivery and invoicing of the import account for services rendered.
• Ensure timely filing of ISF 72 hours prior to shipment leaving origin port.
• Prepare delivery orders, send to trucker, follow up with POD.
• Process documents through the ABI system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate.
• Review and monitor all Customs rejections and requests for information for clients.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
