Job summary

Delta Dental of Michigan is seeking a Customer Service Trainee based in Farmington Hills, MI. Ten positions available with training conducted in a hybrid format; candidates must reside in Michigan and be within a reasonable commuting distance for team meetings.

Responsibilities include researching inquiries, handling calls and written inquiries, maintaining records, and processing claims and eligibility. Shifts include early and late hours Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of customer service experience in a business environment.
• Successful completion of the customer service simulation test (score 62/100) or waived if previously passed.
• Shift flexibility: start times 8:25 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. with end times as specified.
• Ability to work on shifts Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Research inquiries using the claims processing system and other sources.
• Respond to customer/group and provider questions by phone or written communication.
• Maintain related departmental records and files.
• Operate office equipment as needed.
• Make corrections to claims and eligibility.
• Enter new claims, eligibility and subscriber information into the mainframe.
• Review subscriber's coverage to determine benefits.
