Next Street is seeking a passionate Curriculum Specialist to design and develop engaging learning experiences for small business owners. You will work with clients, SMEs, instructional designers, and project managers across the end-to-end curriculum development process—from needs assessment to course publishing.

The ideal candidate combines strong instructional design expertise with exceptional writing, editing, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of proven experience in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Learning & Development, or a related field.
  • Strong instructional design knowledge, including adult learning theory and learning experience design.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content organization skills.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with subject matter experts to develop educational content.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are business minded, translating client needs into content to push forward objectives.
  • Data-driven, using KPIs and metrics to drive decisions and iterate.
  • Proficient with Articulate Rise and Articulate Storyline development software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, or other multimedia development tools.
  • Familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration or other content management systems.
  • Have experience working with small business owners, entrepreneurs, or workforce development audiences.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, train-the-trainer sessions, or instructor-led learning.
  • Familiar with generative AI tools to support instructional design and content development.
  • Familiar with WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards editing remediating PDFs.

Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of curriculum development, from discovery through final delivery.
  • Assess client needs and translate business goals into measurable learning objectives.
  • Partner with SMEs to develop course outlines, identify required content, perform topic research, and gather resources.
  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning best practices to create engaging experiences.
  • Design and develop learning assets including: Storyboards, video scripts, worksheets, job aids, ILT materials, assessments, surveys.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate research and content development while keeping human judgment at the center.
