Job summary

Confidential publicly traded digital assets organization is seeking an Interim Digital Assets Controller to oversee accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for its crypto treasury. This full-remote role requires direct crypto accounting experience and will directly interact with auditors and treasury teams.

You will manage the crypto sub-ledger, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and maintain SOX controls while supporting year-end close and SEC disclosures in a fast-paced, publicly traded

Qualifications

• Requires 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Direct experience accounting for digital assets and cryptocurrency.
• Experience supporting publicly traded companies, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Hands-on crypto accounting with Cryptio or similar platforms is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage crypto sub-ledger, wallet and exchange integrations, and GL sync.
• Reconcile on-chain activity with custodial records and general ledger.
• Investigate reconciliation exceptions and misclassifications.
• Account for digital asset holdings, staking rewards, gains/losses under US GAAP.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for crypto accounting.
• Prepare schedules and disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q/10-K).
• Maintain SOX 404 controls for digital assets.
• Serve as main contact for external auditors on crypto accounting.
• Collaborate with treasury, tech, and custodians to improve processes.
